So, what can users expect to achieve through the technology contained in these products and systems?

Fieldstar has been proven to be an invaluable information system in operations such as harvesting and gathering yield data on the move, which, with the relevant software, can be processed to create yield maps for individual fields and other reports, like incidence of wheelslip. This information can then simply be sent by e-mail, or by means of an SD data card, to the agronomist for analysis and interpretation. Collected information is then easily transferred from the AGCO machine's Console to the farm office PC, on which SGIS Agronomy allows the data to be viewed, analysed and reports produced. As well as providing clear indications of the profitability and efficiency of individual operations, this software allows all relevant traceability requirements to be met in full.

For the ultimate in predictive accuracy, there is the SGIS Agronomy software package, into which the agronomist can import his farmer customer’s data. By incorporating this with information derived from soil sampling and remote sensing, full analysis is possible, adding value to the farmer’s own data to create detailed application plans, etc. For certain operations, such as fertiliser spreading and spraying, these plans may then be implemented using the advanced Falcon VT application control system.
