Consoles & ISOBUS

Console I

This is the in-cab screen on which data can be viewed in Massey Ferguson and Challenger wheeled tractors. It is also used to control both brands' ISOBUS-compliant big balers and the MF and White planters. Operated using a series of buttons and a rotary dial, Console I also has a SD card slot for transferring data.

Console II

This unit performs the same functions as Console I but has a larger screen with touch-screen facility. It is used to operate the Fieldstar II system on machines such as combine harvesters, and Falcon VT on application machines. It can also be used to control White and MF planters.

ISOBUS - It's the future

ISOBUS standard 11783 could be described as the 'Windows®' operating system for the world of agricultural electronics, providing as it does considerable savings in time and money by eliminating the need for any additional terminals or wiring in the cab.

By plugging a compatible implement lead in the tractor's ISOBUS socket, the system automatically uploads the operating menus and displays them on the screen.

ISOBUS standardisation is now administered by the German machinery trade organisation, the VDMA, which awards certificates of compliance to machinery and equipment manufacturers submitting software for approval that meets the ISOBUS standards for component compatibility.

Full details of the ISOBUS standards and a comprehensive list of all manufacturers and ISOBUS-compliant products can be found at http://www.isobus.net/.
